Fall semester is September 12th – December 19th. Tuition is paid up front per semester.
ABSA operates out of Maryland Hall. All classes are held there, and registration is through their website; Registration links and full class descriptions are available by clicking on the class time, when available. Studio Closure dates are at the bottom of this page.
Uniforms can be purchased at Dance Supplies, Etc In Severna Park, and at our site www.academydancesupplies.square.site
All classes Pre-Ballet 3 and up are taught according to the RAD syllabus as described on our Syllabus and Examinations page.
Examinations take place in the spring, subject to RAD examiner tour scheduling. Examination fees not included in tuition.
Classical Ballet 4 and up are invited to participate in our Mini Nutcracker in December. (2026 date TBA). Performance fee required.
ALL are welcome to participate in our full-length ballet on May 28th and May 29th. Performance fee required.

Our Pre-Ballet 1 and 2 levels are both considered “my first class”. Pre-Ballet 3 and Pre-Ballet 4 begin syllabus and are the RAD Pre-Primary and Primary levels.

This class will be learning both Discovering Repertoire and Advanced 1 syllabus. An additional fourth Saturday class required, by invitation only, in order to examine the Advanced 1 syllabus.

*Pointe is integrated into longer class sessions for those who have the necessary ballet experience and strength to dance on pointe as determined by ABSA staff, and who pass our pointe tests.

Class Cancellation and Make up policy*:
Weather related closures, usually county-wide: Academy Ballet cannot guarantee make-up classes, as we have very limited studio availability outside of normal classes. Possible refund of class session at the discretion of the Maryland Hall Director of Teaching and Learning if no make-up sessions can be scheduled.
Maryland Hall independent closure due to building failure/issue: Possible refund of class session at the discretion of the Maryland Hall Director of Teaching and Learning if no make-up sessions can be scheduled.
Teacher illness or other ABSA closure decision: Make-up polls will be sent out and classes offered based on highest possible attendance date(s).
*Pre-Ballet 1 and 2 classes have multiple sessions per week, and students are able to use these other sessions for makeups. Please inform instructor ahead of time.
*CB6 and up can use the Monthly Open technique class as a makeup.
